Guess I Don't Keep Up With Vinyl

Apparently Last Vestige in Saratoga closed end of January? After a wee bit of googling, however, I discover that apparently a new store is opened in its place, DIVINYL Revolution, which bought much of the old store’s wares (whatever wasn’t trucked down to the Albany Last Vestige location) and which is running sales this weekend. And it’s owned / operated by a 24-year-old? Neat.

I thought I just drove past the location yesterday and still saw the Last Vestige signage out. Probably haven’t gotten around to re-branding the place. But I’m glad to hear there’s still a local place to get some vinyl. Otherwise the nearest would be Troy or Albany.

Ah, the fond memories of Last Vestige in ‘toga. Skipping through their CDs, ratty clothing section, and a few boxes of records… And then waiting an additional hour plus while my father carefully combed through the LPs, searching for any hidden gems. Possibly indignant over price of said gem…

Get Yer Free Burritos!

Bombers Burrito Bar will be celebrating 4/20 tomorrow* with FREE burritos, one per person, from 11 a.m. till 11 p.m. If you don’t know, that’s the burrito place at 258 Lark Street in Albany.

On Wednesday, Moe’s Southwest Grill in Saratoga Springs (3084 Route 50) will be offering FREE burritos, ostensibly to celebrate the millionth burrito sold in the Capital Region. (Yeah, sure. More likely it’s a response to…)

AND the new Chipotle Burrito at 3057 Route 50 in ‘toga will be offering FREE burritos on Thursday, in preparation for their Friday grand opening.

Looks like its burrito week.

* It’s actually a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club, but I’d say the date is suspect.

A Gambling Foo’

Today we went to the Saratoga race track, and I won a tidy sum. Thirty-six big ones, to be exact, by betting the trifecta on the fourth race. Spent ten bucks total — five on a losing wager in the first race — so I’m still in the green. I walked before I made a mistake. The horses were nice. The jockeys were short. Yadda yadda.

It was sort of fun, however we were ill-prepared. We should have brought food and drink, since they were (naturally) expensive once we got in. Admission was only three bucks though, and we each got a nice fleece blanket. Woh!

Yeah, that’s it. Bush is still in office (and still ramming America up the ass regardless of sub-50% approval ratings — whowouldathunkit?), the world is still fucked, and this site is still deader than a.. eh.. um.. cheap hooker? No.. no.. I’ll think of something.

Meanwhile, forums are down for an indeterminate amount of time while I figure things out.
