Make No Doubt About It: He’s Old.

(CNN) – For the second time in two days, John McCain has referred to current events in “Czechoslovakia” – a country that officially ceased to exist in January of 1993.

“And I regret some of the recent behavior that Russia has exhibited, and I’ll be glad to talk about that later on including reduction in oil supplies to Czechoslovakia after they agreed with us on a missile defense system, etcetera,” said the presumptive Republican nominee at a New Mexico town hall Tuesday.

The phrase “Bush’s third term” is beginning to take on a whole other meaning. I don’t particularly care about gaffs, but the fact that McCain did this twice in the span of two days means the guy is either more senile than anyone realizes, or his people forgot to correct the talking point. Which I kind of doubt, since they were quick to correct the earlier mistake in their press releases. (On that topic, what’s the point of transcripts if they’re edited from what was actually spoken?)

  • He’s such a hypocritical twink.

  • I can’t even understand what he’s talking about. He’s trying to say Russia punished a nonexistent country for cooperating with us on the star wars missile defense system? If he mentioned Czechoslovakia in passing, sure. But it’s kind of fundamental here.
