About a month (or more) ago, our Mac Mini stopped going online. Since we live in a very rural area, we’re still on… wait for it… dial-up.
The modem had blown. Instead of trashing the computer entirely, I decided to try replacing the modem myself. $10 off of fleabay, and I install it. Doesn’t work.
The computer sits around.
And sits.
Finally I decided to try one more crack. Disassemble. Reassemble. Notice a second connection bridge thing between the main board and the modem. Make sure it’s secure.
Boot it up.
It goes online.
Nice.
In summation. I hate computers. And ifixit.com is helpful.
End transmission.
Oh, and to reward myself, I bought lens hoods and polarizing filters for my camera. Finally, beautiful car shots are at hand! Well, at least there will be less glare.
