Site Updates

I spent pretty much all day today working on the site. Upgrading to the latest version of WordPress, getting it working correctly, adding plugins, and a total redesign. Just like the old days.

And if that wasn’t enough, I’ve spent the last hour or so retroactively adding tags to my oldest posts. And now I’m forced to stop because my left wrist is KILLING me. Argh.

Anyways, hope the work is appreciated, and any comments are welcomed.

I’d also really like to exchange links with any interested parties. Preferably those with similar sites (content, traffic, the whole shebang). I noticed today that a lot of my old ‘link pals’ have moved on or died off. Their sites, not themselves.

  • How’d it all go? I’m a bit nervous to upgrade — afraid the upgrade might blow everything up.

  • The upgrade went fine, but for some reason I am getting errors after posting / making edits to pages and posts. I’m fairly certain that it is because I’m using an older theme that I found today (tweaked it a bit, but the basic php is still there).

2.3 apparently makes some changes to the MySQL database and the tables that WP uses. My site is trying to call up tables that were deleted in the upgrade.

Otherwise.. My tagging plugin stopped working (because of the change) but that was rectified easily with the “Simple Tags” plug-in. I’ve wanked the site more times than I care to admit, but I backup the DB daily, so….

I’d always recommend doing the upgrades though. They must be doing the changes for a reason, eh? :???:

  • LOL. Annnnnnnnd commenters get the same error I see. And info is not saved in the comment boxes… ERR.

I swear, this was the rockiest upgrade I’ve ever had. It’s usually much smoother!

  • The upgrade went bad because you don’t support Bush.

The theme doesn’t look 100% in Opera.

My MP3 player has an English interface.
