Yesterday I embarked on a long and difficult path. Redesigning my website. While it is barely four month olds, the previous format had grown tiresome to my eyes. It was also cumbersome to update, and not flashy enough. So, when I should of been reading about the overpopulation of deer, or the bushmen of southern Africa, I was instead putting some amount of thought and effort into a new, fresh design.
This is the result of my labors. Blue. And more blue. At the moment, it looks very spiffy. But only time will tell on whether I tire of it or grow accustomed. It will be much easier to change the colors though, because now my website is contained within two html pages: The index and the site! I’m using all layers with this new design, meaning that I’ll only have to edit one page to change things like fonts, colors, etc. It’s much easier to update also. I don’t know how fast it will load on a dial-up connection, but that remains a small concern of mine. Surely it can’t be any slower than my previous site. So far, there is not much content on my new site, but since the scope of it is much smaller than my old one, progress on it will go much faster I presume.
As far as my previous post, I will withdraw my statement about being a scheduling god. Monday through Thursday, my classes end at 5:15PM. Which means I can go straight to the dining hall, which is nice. But by the time I get done eating, and through with all my classes, it’s nearly 6PM. The afternoon is a great time to get up and go to class, but there is too much time in between each one. It’s a moot point however; I’m not going to change my schedule, and I have three more years to figure out the optimum schedule.
Political news since my last post? Kerry won the Iowa Caucus, which is great, especially considering that Dean was way ahead of the pack only a few weeks before. Dean only managed to pull in numbers in the teens, a very disappointing turnout. Gephardt dropped out. Kucinich received the amount he was polling, single digits. At several meetings, however, he pulled in surprising numbers, comprised of mostly college students. I read of one account where the Gephardt supporters saw the end coming, and switched to the Kucinich group. Kudos to them.
And then Dean screamed like a banshee. His chances at the White House are fading fast, my friends. Ride the Deanwagon while you can, because it’s not going much farther. Polls show Kerry also winning the New Hampshire primary. I suspect he’d be nearly unstoppable at that point. It’s too close to tell at this point however. Kucinich and Sharpton share the limelight for a single sentence:
“The other two candidates are civil rights campaigner Al Sharpton, and Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich.”

it sucks, too hard to navigate and tell when posts showed up
