My Hall Carpeting

Yesterday inbetween classes, I come back to my room, carrying lunch. As soon as I stepped out of the elevator, I noticed how clean and new-looking the carpet was. As I turned the corner, I saw our maid on her hands and knees, just past my door, scraping and scraping at this gum that had been ground into the carpeting. We acknowledged each other, and I was so grateful that she was taking care of it. And the rest of the hallway looked absolutely terrific.

Today, I wake up and go to take a shower, and to the left of my door, there’s an entire packet of baby carrots strewn down the hall. Who the hell wastes baby carrots? They’re like three times as expensive as regular carrots! And then, to my right, there is what appears to be an entire bag of microwave popcorn strewn down that end of the hall, being ground into the carpet.

I can only assume that it was because of the Red Sox’s historical win last night.

I’m sick and tired of living with such ungrateful, inconsiderate, rich pricks. These stupid fucks act like they were born in a barn. Seriously, where the fuck do they think they are? Back at home where their mommy’s clean their rooms for them?

For fucks sakes. The entire tower was renovated over the summer. new paint, new carpeting, new elevators. Everything. Now these stupid fucks are completely trashing the place. So far, half a dozen floors have had the elevator buttons vandalized, apparently resulting in over five hundred dollars damage. The new elevators cost the school half a million dollars this summer, and these pricks couldn’t care less. Probably because their mommy’s and daddy’s are paying their tuition fees also.

I’m venting here, instead of out in the hall, because I would probably get my ass kicked. But I’m just sick of this infantile shit. To think that these people are so fucking inconsiderate to throw food, gum, and fucking condoms (see my earlier post on the subject), out into the hallway, is inconceivable in my mind.

I feel sorry for the housekeeping.

It’s a sad, unfathomable situation indeed. Maybe having a maid gives these people a subconcious license to be so destructive. Sick.

But then I’ve seen the result of what must be these same idiots left behind in Cascadilla Gorge. It’s supposed to offer a peaceful, beautiful, outdoor diversion from studying. Instead the gorge is often impossibly littered with Milwaulkee’s Best beercans, empty case boxes, food refuse & whatever else. They even throw waste against the gorge wall opposite the path, so no one else can reach it to clean it up.

    What can you do?

BTW, your West Memphis Three link needs the P removed.

  • I hate Milwaulkee’s Best. BLARGH. Probably is the same people.

Thanks for the tip about the link, too.
