Hamas chief killed in air strike

Wow. Pretty graphic for the BBC.

The leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, has been killed in an Israeli air strike.
A BBC reporter at the scene in Gaza said Yassin was being pushed in his wheelchair when he was directly hit by an Israeli missile.Mosques announced Yassin’s death over loudspeakers and urged people to take to the streets in protest.
Outside the morgue at Shifa Hospital, Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh confirmed Sheikh Yassin’s death.
“This is the moment Sheikh Yassin dreamed about,” he said, with tears in his eyes.
“Sheikh Yassin lived and died and offered his life to Palestine. Sheikh Yassin was a hero and a fighter and the leader of a nation, and [he] is in heaven now.”
Hamas militants, shouting through loudspeakers in the streets of Gaza City, vowed to avenge his death.
“We will send death to every house, every city, every street in Israel.”
Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei called the attack a “dangerous, cowardly act”.
How will this affect suicide bombers? Or the peace process? Only time will tell…

I agree those images are pretty graphic, but perhaps it’s time we in the west see what all these ‘strategic strikes’ really look like.
the more freedom fighters that are killed the more that will spring from the sands of Arabia
