The title “white male consumer” is tongue-in-cheek. It’s accurate but meaningless in defining who I am or how I interact with the world.
Often, in response to banal questions about an occupation or favorite pursuit, I’ve self-identified as a writer. In the pursuit of a singular label, I’ve found it to be adequate. But then the follow-up is invariably “oh, what sort?”
My typical rejoinder is “whatever pays the bills,” although I’ve failed to pay many bills through writing to date. I label myself a writer not because I write a great deal but because text is my favorite medium. I’m more articulate through text than speech. So it seemed like the natural career path.
This blog is my primary online pursuit. Consider it a writing exercise – a way to keep myself going. Subject matter varies from day to day, depending on mood, time of year, and events both personal and public.
I live in upstate NY. I graduated from college spring of 2007. I enjoy the typical tripe like reading, photography, and MINI Coopers.
I’m a vegetarian, diabetic, bicyclist, introvert.
My politics are left-of-center. I tend to focus on international relations and electoral reform. The former, because it affects the largest amount of people; the latter, because it’s the first step to a saner government.

WMC has existed in blog form since 2004. Throughout its run, WMC has used WordPress blogging software. All writing, coding, and other shenanigans are performed on a 12″ G4 PowerBook. Updates might be done at home or on the roam; on a train but probably not a plane.
